How billing works with us
Three steps. We do the chasing.
What are you managing?
Lymphedema, venous insufficiency, post-surgical swelling, DVT prevention — coverage rules differ by condition, and we know them.
What insurance do you have?
Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and many commercial plans cover compression with a qualifying diagnosis. Tell us your plan and we’ll verify benefits before you order.
Do you have a prescription?
Most plans require one for compression garments. Don’t have one yet? We’ll request it from your doctor for you.
What’s typically covered
Every plan is different — this is the general pattern.
Commonly covered
Graduated compression stockings (20–30 and 30–40 mmHg) with a prescription for lymphedema, chronic venous insufficiency, or post-surgical care. Medicare covers compression for lymphedema under the Lymphedema Treatment Act.
Usually out of pocket
Mild compression (8–15 and most 15–20 mmHg), athletic/sport compression, travel socks, and donning aids. These are typically considered wellness or convenience items.
Very likely covered
Diagnosed lymphedema with a prescription — garments, wraps, and bandages are covered under Medicare’s lymphedema benefit with quantity allowances.
You may qualify — let’s check
Chronic venous insufficiency, varicose veins with complications, post-thrombotic syndrome. Coverage varies by plan; verification takes us minutes.
Coverage at a glance
Condition → typical coverage → level usually prescribed. Final coverage always depends on your specific plan — verify yours before you order.
| Condition | Typical coverage | Level usually prescribed |
|---|---|---|
| Lymphedema | Strong — Medicare (Lymphedema Treatment Act) + most commercial plans | 20–30 or 30–40 mmHg |
| Chronic venous insufficiency | Good — covered with prescription on most plans | 20–30 mmHg |
| DVT history / post-thrombotic syndrome | Good — medical necessity well documented | 20–30 or 30–40 mmHg |
| Leg ulcers (venous) | Strong — Medicare surgical-dressing benefit (A6531/A6532) | 30–40 mmHg |
| Post-surgical swelling | Varies — plan-dependent; HSA/FSA eligible | 15–20 or 20–30 mmHg |
| Varicose veins (with complications) | Varies — symptom-dependent; verification recommended | 15–20 or 20–30 mmHg |
Insurance questions, answered
The ones we hear every day.
Do you bill Medicare?
Yes — for qualifying lymphedema compression garments with a prescription on file. We verify your specific coverage before anything ships.
What if my plan denies the claim?
We tell you before you order, not after. If coverage isn’t there, you decide whether to proceed at cash price — no surprise bills.
Can I use my HSA/FSA?
Yes. Compression garments are HSA/FSA eligible with a prescription, and we provide itemized receipts for reimbursement.
How long does verification take?
Usually same business day. Complex cases (secondary insurance, prior auth) can take 1–2 days — we’ll keep you posted either way.
